Scope & Content Small collection of manuscript, draft or carbon copies of prose and poetry attributed to Vermonters or related to Vermont. Includes poem by Stephen Gorham, Jr. (1794); humorous poem, "The Insects Petition to C.H. Anthony, principal of the Practical School, Troy, New York" (1838); printed broadside, "Granville Ventilator dated October 25, 1871 containing "Little Moses" a humorous letter to the editor by Jonathan Stebbins of Wells, Vermont. Also three poems by C.A. Castle, "The Bells of Burlington" (1897) and a poem to Mrs. John K. Gray on her ninetieth birthday; and a printed poem on the death of Robert Meech Walker (1896). Also an apparently original, undated, typed editorial by Robert W. Mitchell of the Rutland Herald.
