Scope & Content Material collected by N. B. Hall for his history of Bennington found in Abby Hemenway's Vermont Historical Gazetteer. Includes an early map of Old Bennington roads and some residents. Either notes for or transcriptions of: Bennington Ecclesiastical Notes- either made by or from the same section in the Gazetteer, p. 162+ (this is not an exact match but follows the same outline); early town records of Bennington, March 31, 1762 - September 1776; Genealogy notes on several families- Nathaniel Fillmore, Rev. Jedediah Dewey, and Aaron Hubbell; the muster roll of the first company of militia organized October 24, 1764; and the rolls of Capt. Elijah Dewey's company etc.
Administrative/Biographical History Seems to be research material that appears in various forms in N. B. Hall's History of Bennington in the Vermont Historical Gazetteer (vol. I, pp 142-183). From the attributed authorship in the Gazetteer there are two Hall authors: Hiland and N. B. Hall. This materrial is found under the section attributed to N. B. Hall, Hiland's son.
