a. Civil War letter, dated October 27, 1861, from A.D. Dutton of Warren, Vermont, to his brother Orlow Dutton of Moretown, Vermont. Mostly describes journey and the land in Virginia, where they are camped on a Rebel's estate and taking advantage of his crops and cattle.
b. Envelope addressed to Mr. Orlow Dutton, Moretown, Vermont. "Look on back" in pencil on the front of the envelope. The back has one line of red and one line of blue as a border. The flap is embossed with an American eagle with outstretched wings, grasping a shield with 4 flags and a line of stars above its head.
c. A second envelope addressed to Mr. Orlow Dutton of Moretown, Vermont
