Administrative/Biographical History The Protestant Episcopal Church was formed in Rutland in 1794. In 1832 articles and bylaws were drafted by Solomon Foot, Jesse Gove and others to form the Protestant Episcopal Society of the Trinity Church in Center Rutland. A new church was built in 1863 and completed in 1865, and the organ papers in this file relate to the instalation of the organ as the church finished constuction. Episcopal Bishop for the Diocese of Vermont, John Henry Hopkins, served here briefly in 1860.
