Title Heman Swift Letters

Scope & Content Two letters. The first from Heman Swift addressed to Samuel Fay, from Cornwall, Connecticut. Brother is crossed out in the salutation. Swift writes that it is his sorrow to write that his mother was killed by a strike of lightening. Written on April 19 with no year given but Sarah Robinson Fay died in 1804. The second letter is also from Swift in Cornwall to Major David Robinson on June 21, 1791. Swift writes that he has already written to Mother about particulars so will not bore Robinson but that he is inclosing a nomination in answer to Robinson's inquiry into whether he was able to obtain an election.
