Letter written on "Bittersweet Hill" letterhead, May 1945 about the collars in the collection listed under 1985.502.1 and .2. Explains that the author's mother wore the second one as a means of keeping her dress clean. The first collar was made by the recieptants Aunt Mary who also made a number of her own dresses and was the collar her grandmother wore in the last picture she took.
