Description Photographic post card with black and white photograph of seated young man wearing suit, appears to be copied from an earlier carte-de-visite. Inscribed on front with "Color Sergeant Jackson Sargeant of the 5th Vt who carried his colors first over the Rebel lines in the last grand charge of the War breaking Lee's lines & forcing him out of Petersburg - Congress gave him a Medal of Honor." Back inscribed "War times picture of Color Sergt Jackson Sargeant of Fifth Vt who carried the flag which led the Union foces in the last great charge in the war when the Rebel lines before Petersburg were pierced at 2 am. Apr. 2/65. inside the Rebel works."
