Object Paperweight
Description A glass paperweight. Clear crystal with a black "TH" above a spaced millefiori and filigree cable design. There are two red-edged Dennison labels on the base. One states: "Clichy" in ink; the other has the number "3353" in ink. The object matches the profile of Clichy paperweights on page 125 of "The Encyclopedia of Glass Paperweights" by Paul Holliser, Jr. This type of paperweight is called a "chequer" on page 128 of the same book. The item has been attributed to Clichy by members of the New England Collector's Assoc. on 9/24/88. The object has been in the museum for a long period of time. It is being accessioned at this time.(1990)
