Description Wooden winder for woolen yarn. Owned by the George W. Stickney family, 1840-1850 from Andover, Vermont. Made up of two thin pieces of wood with upright wooden dowels attached one end. These pieces slide in groves on a third piece of wood. Third long piece of wood with upright dowels on either end is attached to the above by a wooden peg and this third piece rotates to wind wool. (a) is large part. (b) is small wood knob with curved metal wire on bottom.
