Object Insulator
Description Rockingham glazed insulator (c), porcelain, with an early mounting device of cast iron (b) and wood. The cast iron bracket mounts to a vertical surface such as a wall and receives the threaded wooden peg in its socket. Wood screw or nail anchors it into the socket, through a small drilled hole at one side of the socket. The insulator screws onto the peg.
