Hand-written paper, on one side are two different recipes (labeled as "receipts") for "Cologne water". This side is signed "Lafayette Dickinson". On the reverse side is written, "Died in Hoosick on the 3rd inst. Sarah Jane infant daughter of Abraham and Sophia Breese, aged nine months and one Day". A poem follows which starts "Adieu adieu sweet infant babe...." Sarah Jane Breese died March 9, 1847. |
