Three Page Moses Christmas Story |
Object Name |
Letter |
Creator |
Moses, Anna Mary Robertson (Grandma) |
Dates of Creation |
ca. 1950 |
Scope & Content |
Handwritten two page description of the first Christmas Grandma Moses can remember when she was a little over four years old. The story is similar to the one which was later published as a facsimile in December 1951. This copy is addressed to Arthur and goes into detail of what happened to a figurine of Little Red Riding Hood that Grandma Moses received. She also writes that whenever she smells hemlock or turpentine she thinks of Christmas because of her father decorating the house. This particular copy is dated February 8, 1922 but is unlikely to have been written at that time. |
