Administrative/Biographical History |
Bennington schools started in 1763 when the first school, Clio Hall, was established. It was probably the first formal school in the western part of Vermont, and was incorporated in 1780. The building for the Bennington Academy was erected in 1821, and the academy and Bennington Seminary were rivals from about 1829 to 1837. |
