It is interesting to note the schools where this year's high school graduates continued their education: University of Vermont, Columbia College, New York, NY, Hunter College, New York, NY, Oberlin, Syracuse, Mt. Holyoke, Exeter School of Design, Norwich, Samaritan Hospital, Bliss Business College, MA Optical School (this was Dewitt Lewis who practiced for a long period of time in his home town), Taylor College, Museum of Fine Arts, Pratt Institute. The "brightest girl of the class" was Elizabeth Holden Jenney. She was also the class valedictorian and the prophecy was that she would be a poet. She became a scientist. At this date, "Miss Betty" still spends her summers in her appartment in North Bennington, Vermont. |
