a) Envelope, postmarked December 13, 1888, with a 1 cent stamp to Mr. Charles Dewey of Bennington, Vermont. Marked "personal." On back the initials "A. B." are written. b) Dated letter addressed "Mr. Dewey: Dear Sir." Letter is handwritten on a sheet of ivory paper which is folded so that it comes to four pages with an additional sheet written on both sides. It is signed "Yours respectfully, M. Bliss." Letter concerns building of monument, raising money, creditors, and bad feeling between different factions in charge of putting up the Bennington Monument. |
