October 15, 1789 Vermont Governor Moses Robinson appointed John Fassett, Jr. as chief judge of the Chittenden County Court. Fassett, an important early Benningtonian, had moved to Cambridge, Vermont, in the summer of 1784. Before then, Fassett had served with Robinson on the Superior Court. Robinson made this appointment very shortly after his election as governor. |
