From the North Adams Transcript (North Adams, Massachusetts) November 26, 1948 Mrs. Fred Foster Mrs. Hope Rudd Foster, 71, widow of Fred Foster, died yesterday afternoon at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Frank Mason, 65 Simonds road with whom she made her home. Mrs. Foster was born at Bennington, Vt. and maintained her home there until two years ago when she came to Williamstown to live with her daughter. She was active in the work of the Bennington and Williamstown Granges and in the Daughters of the American Revolution, but withdrew from these organizations about a year ago because of failing health. She was also active in the work of the First Congregational church of Old Bennington of which she was a member. In addition to her daughter she is survived by two granddaughters, the Misses Eleanore and Hope Mason. The body is at the Walbridge Funeral Home, Main Street, Bennington where funeral services will be held Sunday afternoon at 3 o'clock, with burial in the family lot in the Old Bennington cemetery following. Rev. George B. Belby, Jr., pastor of the First Congregational church of Williamstown will officiate. Calling hours at the funeral home will be Friday evening and Saturday afternoon and evening. |
