She was born in South Burlington, Vermont and moved to North Bennington in 1903 when her father got a job working from the H.C. White Company. Sue graduated from Bennington High School in 1920 and attended nursing school in Brooklyn as well as several business correspondence courses. She worked as an accountant for several local businesses and volunteered her time as a bookkeeper for local non-profits. She was married twice and had two children who survived her. |
