Postcard published by E.T. Griswold. Handcolored. No.172. Bennington Girls’ Club. Captioned on back, "This association was organized in 1892, its purpose being for recreation, education, and social betterment of the young women of the community, all over sixteen years of age being eligible to membership. The club employs a year around superintending Secretary and indoor and outdoor activities are well supported both Summer and Winter. The building known as the Old Stone Blacksmith Shop was erected in 1833 and was used for the above purpose until recently, when it was purchased by the Town and fitted up for the girls of Bennington."
