This photograph appeared in the "Bennington Banner" newspaper April 2, 1960 with the caption, "George Breen of Winhall watches automatic drawing tap which lets finished syrup flow from the evaporator at a constant 219 degree temperature. The biggest producer in Bennington County, Breen taps almost 5,000 trees for close to 1,000 gallons of finished syrup each year." |
