On April 2, 1960 the Bennington Banner published a full page "Bannercamera" article with photographs by staff photographer Jon Allen about Vermont’s maple sugar business. The caption for this photo was, "Grading by color–Bennington COunty Agent John C. Page checks grade of some of the first syrup made this Spring in Bennington County. The UVM extension agent works closely with all sugarbush tappers and with COunty Forester Davis C. Barton keeps progress reports on season’s flow." |
