Description |
Ambrotype of William D. Collins as young man. Picture taken in school room in Bennington before the Civil War. Dressed in dark suit jacket with white button down shirt and dark bow tie, goatee. Embossed brass mat with oval opening. Hinged wood case with embossed brown paper covering. Red velvet lining in cover with scroll design around the edge and an urn at center. Paper label with handwriting in pencil on front of case: "William D. Collins Taken before Civil War..." (mostly obscured by object label), may say "Dart" and have been taken by Calvin Dart. |
