Information |
This painting by Leroy Williams was copied from a photograph of a miniature portrait for Bennington Museum in 1940. The Museum had only opened 12 years before and early curators were eager to collect portraits of as many famous people connected to Bennington as possible. When original paintings were not available, they hired local artists to make copies for the collection. |
