Description |
Grand Army of the Republic dress sword (a) and scabbard (b). Owned and used by Captain Lyman Clark of Bennington, Vermont. Gold and silver metal in color. Scabbard is silver with gold bands and rings for attaching to belt. Gold rim at top and molded decorative piece at bottom. Blade is elaborately engraved with "GAR" and other military images. Stamped "Patch & Fellows Boston, Mass." Handle is wrapped, molded pommel with "C" on the side. Guard has molded GAR motif with anchor and crossed rifles. |
