Description |
Sword (a) and scabbard (b) carried in the War of 1812 by Jonathan Wheelock of South Shaftsbury, Vermont. Sword has eagle pommel, brass hilt. Checkered black wood grip. Curved blade 29 5/8" long. Blade blued and gilded for 1/2 length, marked S + K. Scabbard is of black leather, gilt brass throat and middle band. Strap attached to middle band for wearing on belt. |
