Description |
Musket used by Daniel Smith in the battle of Bennington. Originally a flintlock, later changed to percussion type. Wood ramrod, stuck in holder in stock. Fowling piece .50 cal. Converted to percussion, full length stock brass hardware. 32" barrel, octagon 7 1/2", at breech. Rear sight set in 5 1/2" from tang. May have been stocked in Colonies. Stock marked near trigger guard tail "- - ALL" (possibly N HALL.) Lock held with one screw. Lockplate stamped "LONDON / ARRAHEL (?)". |
