Description |
Cap. ca. 1850. Made and worn by Laura Gale Johnson, daughter of Solomon Gale of Bennington, Vermont. According to his will on file in the Court House in Bennington, Vermont "did discover the ore beds." Cap made of white net trimmed with white ribons and lace. Also trimmed with cloth flowers in brown, pink, purple and white. Tradition says that Laura was well known cap maker. |
