Description |
Applique quilt. Central eight-pointed star with four green plant stalks extending to red, green and yellow polka dot flowers. Bound with red bias tape. Belonged to Fanny Abbott Blackmer Meagher and possibly hand-made by Sylvia Squires Blackmer, wife of Samuel H. Blackmer. Never been washed. 6 ply, double twist thread. Double dyed green and chrome yellow dyes. Seven stitches per inch. Hand stitched. White cotton backing. "259" stamped in blue, on corner of quilt. |
