Broadside advertising concert tickets which were to be used in a lottery of a cotton factory, other real estate, and cash prizes located in Bennington, Vermont for the benefit of disabled soldiers, their widows, and orphans. Dated 1867 the lottery and concert series were organized by the Vermont Soldier's Assistance Association. General George P. Foster served as President of the Association with William W. Henry and Eugene O. Cole as the Vice Presidents. The cotton mill was known as the Bennington Cotton Mills owned by John Vose Carney and E. H. Carney. The building lots were located on Pottery Street, Smith venue, and Putnam Street. No locations were given for the tenement houses. |
