Information |
John Spargo mentioned this crock in particular in his book "The Potters and Potteries of Bennington" and declared it the only sample of yellow ware that could definitely be attributed to the United States Pottery Company. It was made by William G. Leake under the supervision of his father, who was working at the pottery. It was a gift for his sister, who treasured it for the rest of her life until she presented it to Spargo for the Museum's collection. |
