Belonged to Timothy Jones, of Bedford, Massachusetts, 2nd Lieut Moses Abbott. The cartridge of the time was a rolled tube of paper containing a measured amount of powder and a lead ball. The ends were closed by folding them over or by tying. These cartidges were kept in a block of wood with drilled holes fitted in a leather bag worn over the shoulder. |
