Letters, meeting notes, fund raising solicitations and printed ephemera relating to the construction of the Bennington Battle Monument. Includes a copy of the Act to incorporate the Bennington Battle Monument Association, letter from descendants of the early residents of Bennington expressing their views on the proposed monument. A drawing by architect John F. Weir showing the proposed siting of the Monument and the buildings to be removed for construction and landscaping. There are two short drafts of a letter or presentation against demolition of the State Arms Inn for the monument. |

Much of this material was created in the planning and fund raising for the Bennington Battle Monument and were saved by George W. Robinson as a result of his fund raising efforts in New York, Boston, Chicago, and other places organized groups of former Vermonters resided. |
