Letter from Tench Tilghman to Robert Morris, member of Congress 1777. Copy of a letter from Thomas Chittenden, President of the council to an unidentified general (possibly Brigadier General Benjamin Lincoln?) regarding the movement of General Burgoyne's army toward Albany; dated 17 September, 1777, two days before the Battle of Bemis point between Gates and Burgoyne, and one month before the Battle of Saratoga October 17 (Mounted on a supporting paper frame.). An affidavit of Lemuel Roberts of Bennington regarding having been a prisoner in Canada in 1778 with three related letters dated 1914/1915 between HPM and John Pierce of Albany, New York. Draft of an 1835 letter from Isaac Tichenor in reply for assistance to help Mr. Risden's pension application that develops into a description of conditions in Vermont in 1777-1778. |
