Chiefly scattered correspondence of Trenor W. Park mostly related to his business interests. Eleven letters from Park including six letters to George W. Harmon or H. A. Harmon and four letters written from Florida to his daughter Elizabeth McCullough. An 1875 letter to John Livingston declines an invitation to become a trustee of the Erie Railroad. Six letters to Park are from Erastus Fairbanks, John B. Page, J. L. Barton and Hoyt H. Wheeler. Fairbanks letter thanks Park for his gift of one thousand dollars toward fitting out Vermont soldiers for the Civil War. One letter from A. B. Valentine to C.G. Lincoln concerning his business connections with Park. Also included is a copy of an 1828 letter from William Park, Trenor Park's grandfather, seeking a Revolutionary War pension and an announcement of the golden wedding anniversary of Luther Park, Trenor Park's father. Also includes letters and documents relating to two finiancial settlements in 1878 in which Park had interests. The H. D. Hall settlement relates to a cotton mill in North Bennington and includes letter from Hiland Hall and Henry D. Hall. The M. Carter Hall settlement includes letters from Hiland Hall, Trenor Park, J.G. McCullough concerning property in North Bennington owned by M. C. Hall and by Samuel B. Hall. |
