Notes |
Watson grew up in Townsend, Vermont and worked in A.D. Wyatt's studio in Brattleboro 1886-87. He came to Bennington in 1888 where he bought an established photography studio started by Calvin Dart in the 1850s. He was active in the Baptist Church and a member of the Odd Fellows and the Pythian Knighthood. When he left town for Washington State in 1899, the Bennington Banner proclaimed, "Mr. Watson was a model citizen, strictly temperate, of the highest honor and integrity, kindly and courtly to everybody and universally liked." He sold his Bennington studio to Wills White. |
